Bump On The Beach: My Babymoon in Sardinia

Author’s Note: This post is so overdue it needed an induction and forceps. Welcome to Style On The Lamb… Bump On The Beach: Babymoon in Sardinia, weighing 540 words and 24 pictures. Pardon my pregnancy puns, but I wanted to share this experience and pictures (even if it was over a year ago) as it was a truly special and stylish trip.

In May 2018, at six months pregnant, I traveled to Sardinia, Italy for one last couple-centric holiday (aka, the famous babymoon) before the arrival of my little bean. I stayed at the Hotel Romazzino, near the chic town of Porto Cervo, right off the famous Costa Smeralda. Surrounded by glittering blue-green water, my husband and I (and the Bump) indulged in a bellissimo beach vacation designed for two.

The resort was stunning with picture perfect sea views (from our hotel room to the gym), two pools, and a private beach with plenty of beach-hut style straw umbrellas; not to mention Aqua di Parma products in the bathroom.  However, due to the insanely exorbitant food and drink prices (i.e. €21 for a virgin Pina Colada — “But that’s just juice,” I argued), we rented a little Fiat and drove around the big island, as well as boarded a ferry to visit a small island off shore called La Maddalena — beach hopping and yacht spotting throughout for free.

Here are some of my favourite pictures of the resort, the island views, and my pre-natal outfits, featuring the Bump.

*Fun fact — almost all my maternity wear was not maternity wear; all but the swimsuits (from pregnancy fashion store – Seraphine) and the white jeans (from fast fashion retailer H&M Maternity). I simply chose regular women’s items that were either cut wide and loose, or that would streeeettttcch. You can read more on how I chose my prenatal pieces here.

About

I'm an American writer/mother/boss living in London, sharing stories and articles about the things I love most – fashion, travel, and wellness; all told with a little tongue-in-cheek humour, because I also love satire, sarcasm, idiosyncrasies and double entendres.

All opinions are my own. All photos are taken by me (or my begrudging art directed husband, a specially recruited friend, or maybe my mom).
