As a blogger I am always location scouting for cool and interesting backdrops for my future fashion posts. From pretty coloured townhouses to industrial garage doors, no background is out of bounds. On my recent trip to Berlin, it didn’t take me long before I discovered probably the coolest stretch of background a blogger could find. Extending 12 feet high, and once almost 100 miles long, and ranging in colors from muted beige to bright and metallic graffiti – the Berlin Wall was to be the perfect background for an #OOTD.
Now, is it wrong to use this relic, with its grim and notorious past, as a photo op? The Wall was once a literal ring of captivity and a sight for many shootings and deaths. However, today the Wall exists as pieces, sprinkled throughout the city, often painted by artists. And it remains as a reminder of the past and a symbol for freedom and expression. And with all due respect, the Wall proved to be the perfect backdrop for one of my favorite fashion picks – my badass All Saints Cargo leather jacket. With it’s black-grey color, quilted shoulder panels, and asymmetric front zipper, it always looks amazingly strong in style, from wall to wall.
For on-the-go ease and comfort, this look was further styled with a tasseled navy scarf, long grey cardigan sweater, nylon black cross body bag, dark high-stretch jeans, mid-top sneakers and lilac aviator sunnies.
