This autumn marks my fifth year living in London. And while I’ve noticed many changes in myself over the past few years (like using the word “quite” and eating baked beans with my eggs), I recently realized how much my daily fashion has assimilated to my city’s surroundings too – I wear more grey than ever before. London’s cloudy skies and cobblestone pavements have infiltrated my mind, turning a once-thought boring shade into a romantic neutral color, that works anytime, anywhere. From my vest to my jeans to my nails, grey reigns supreme for mixing into any #ootd.
Here is one of my favorite weekend outfits, en route to brunch in Notting Hill. Layering a faux-fur vest with a wool scarf on chilly autumn days is practically a British tradition, as is carrying a Burberry bag and wearing leopard shoes. My favorite piece here though is my grey jeans. Super soft and highly stretchy they are as comfortable as sweatpants, but much more socially acceptable to wear on brunch dates.
