Over the past year, couples of people, several even, have been asking, “Why don’t you blog anymore?” I used to have lots of excuses as to why – graduate school; new job; Netflix. Suddenly now life seems more settled for me than it did years ago and I have more to share than ever before. So here I am giving blogging another go, this time on a new and shiny site, Style On The Lamb. My objective with this blog is to simply share stories about my favorite things in life, with just a sprinkling of satire.
Fashion plays a huge role in my life. Not just because I get dressed everyday and because I work fulltime in retail marketing, but because I really truly enjoy it! I love buying clothes and accessories. And I love using all my purchased goods as an expression of my mood and personal style. From morning park strolls to fitness sweat sessions, I embrace the OOTD.
Travel is also a big part of my life. I’m an American expat living in London with a severe case of wanderlust. If there was a fire in my house, the first thing I would grab is my passport. I relish in flipping though it’s pages and deciphering all the stamps. Exploring the world is very important to me as it always brings about new perspectives. As well as new opportunities for me to go shopping! (And eating! And who doesn’t love awesome food. But I promise you, I will not post pictures of my morning oatmeal because that’s boring and looks disgusting.)
Ultimately, Style On The Lamb is a lifestyle blog about style in transit. It celebrates fashion in motion, from my local neighbourhood to exotic cities abroad, and occasionally at an airport in between. In tandem, it embraces the absurdity of trends, from crazy patterned yoga leggings to British fascinators to excessively large black sunglasses. Because while classic clothing choices are great, so is dressing slightly off-center.
So if you like clothes and travel, with a little tongue-in-cheek humor, then sign up for emails to stay up-to-date with me and my musings. Or follow me on Instagram @jvogelmeer if you’re not really into reading and would rather just look at pictures… I get that.
Next stop: Lisbon, Portugal.
