This summer this LWD is my new go-to dinner dress. It is the ultimate blank canvas, so I am packing it in all my holiday suitcases.
My last holiday was to the Kasbah Tamadot, perched in the middle of the Moroccan mountains. Inspired by the local culture and Berber Museum in Marrakesh, I transformed this little white dress into a finely layered look with rugged appeal. Berber fashion is all about texture and layers (for added warmth in the chilly mountainside) and colors (for denoting tribe kinship), but not without some serious BLING (for looking fine, obviously).
Subtly channeling their style, I added a green vest as a casual outer layer, along with a yellow rhinestone necklace, woven bracelets and a beige studded bag. Paired with beige patented leather strappy wedge sandals (which are completely inappropriate for mountain terrain), I was the city slicker version of Berber.
