I Just Woke Up To Eco-Friendly Fashion And Now I Feel Like An Asshole

eco-friendly denim

It all started with a pair of jeans. This season I bought myself a new pair of high-waist, wide-leg, exposed button denim trousers that enthusiastically nod to the 1970s. They fit me perfectly in the hips, bum, and thighs (my initial trifecta for trouser shopping), so within seconds I ripped off the tags, discovering that they are far more than a new pair of jeans – but my first ever eco-friendly fashion item, made from sustainably dyed organic cotton from a leading sustainable factory. * Awesome, I thought. But was I woke? Nope, not at all. So I decided to do some research. What’s the deal with eco-friendly fashion anyway?

The Teddy Coat Returns As The Therapist You Always Wanted

j.crew teddy coat pink
A happy me in my J.Crew teddy coat.

“You look ridiculous,” my husband mocks, as I model my new coat. I shoot him a look that says “zip it” as I return my gaze to the mirror to, in fact, zip up my newly purchased teddy coat. Its cocoon-shape generously envelops me. Its soft and nubby texture mimics a thick fleece sweatshirt, but its elegant detailing, gold zippers down the front and on the sides, elevates it from a seasonal staple to an autumnal statement piece. I feel comfortable, yet chic – ready to brace the incoming fall chill.

Purchased from J.Crew in fall 2018 * (just after the birth of my son), I sought a warm and practical coat for strolling the soggy streets of London. This jacket’s online description read, “feels like a wearable teddy bear,” prompting my postpartum self to add to cart. Available in multiple colourways from basic black to warm brandy to various shades of pink, I chose a sorbet shade of pink, dubiously named Glass Petal. ** I opted to look like a Care Bear; and I’m not alone.

Style On The Lamb Gets A Fall Makeover

Blame it on the autumn air, that soft chilly caress that strokes your cheek and whispers in your ear, “Get some new pencils. Buy a tweed jacket. And some loafers — It’s time to start over again.” And while I’ve been feeling that seasonal need to update my closet, I’ve been feeling the need to refresh my blog too. It’s fall makeover time.

Birthday in Tuscany

The house is silent and my bedroom is completely dark. As I begin to open my eyes whilst stealing a few more moments beneath my comforter, I can sense the bright light that lies behind the thick wooden window shutters. Light traces the lines of the window, begging to be let in to the room. It doesn’t take long before I am coerced to open the window. There she is — bella Tuscany.

Bump On The Beach: My Babymoon in Sardinia

Author’s Note: This post is so overdue it needed an induction and forceps. Welcome to Style On The Lamb… Bump On The Beach: Babymoon in Sardinia, weighing 540 words and 24 pictures. Pardon my pregnancy puns, but I wanted to share this experience and pictures (even if it was over a year ago) as it was a truly special and stylish trip.

In May 2018, at six months pregnant, I traveled to Sardinia, Italy for one last couple-centric holiday (aka, the famous babymoon) before the arrival of my little bean. I stayed at the Hotel Romazzino, near the chic town of Porto Cervo, right off the famous Costa Smeralda. Surrounded by glittering blue-green water, my husband and I (and the Bump) indulged in a bellissimo beach vacation designed for two. [Read more…] about Bump On The Beach: My Babymoon in Sardinia

Hello Oslo (Hello Baby Bump)

oslo harbour baby bump

There she shows! Looking around Oslo last spring, you could see lots of blue water, boats, fjords, and oh yeah — my baby bump. Last April, I visited the coastal city in search of a chill weekend away from home. Being four months pregnant at the time, I knew my traveling days were changing (along with my figure) so I ventured to Norway to soak up the Scandi life. About

I'm an American writer/mother/boss living in London, sharing stories and articles about the things I love most – fashion, travel, and wellness; all told with a little tongue-in-cheek humour, because I also love satire, sarcasm, idiosyncrasies and double entendres.

All opinions are my own. All photos are taken by me (or my begrudging art directed husband, a specially recruited friend, or maybe my mom).
